DON’T SQUEEZE PIMPLES!
Acne is by far the most common skin problem that brings women and even men to the dermatologists. Professional help ensures that acne, in the mild and severe forms gets minimized as far as possible, leaving behind a minimal amount of scars.
However, if you are one of those who just can’t resist touching and squeezing your pimples, sit up and listen. Fiddling with or forcibly squeezing pimples can actually cause permanent scarring of the skin, which is definitely more traumatic than having an ugly looking scar itself. Easier said than done, but it is important that you do not get into the allurement of getting rid of that horrible looking pimple right away, by simply squeezing it.
Instead, what you can actually do is to keep an acne stick handy. This is a kind of cosmetic which looks like a pen and can be just applied on the pimple like a dot. Also, keep the specialized anti acne creams and ointments at hand, which will help you resist the temptation till you reach your doctor.
One of the main reasons why people suffer from acne is due to fluctuating hormones. When teenagers are going through puberty and their hormones are changing rapidly, acne will flair up. These rapid changes will cause pimples to form at the skin.
The other causes of acne are stress and diet. Whenever someone is under stress they also tend to eat poorly and will have an outbreak. When the stress has been relieved and the diet returns to normal the pimples will go away.
Genetics also plays a role in whether you will have to deal with Acne. If your parents had skin problems as a teenager or even now, as adults then there is a good chance you will as well. Genetics can play a role along with your hormones, stress and diet.

WHEN TACKLING WHITEHEADS BE PROACTIVE!
When you have these ugly little white spots on your face they might look a bit less scary than the blackheads, but believe me, they are more hazardous to your skin and a result of a far greater malfunction.
Well, these whiteheads are caused when the hardened sebum or oil gets accumulated in your skin. Since the clogged grease does not get oxidized due to exposure to air, the color doesn’t turn black.
If you happen to have whiteheads, you should immediately do some deep pore cleansing. Use a mixture of beauty grains and skin tonic to help you, since the gentle dermabrasive works softly on your skin and dislodge the whiteheads over a specific period of time.
In addition, never try to remove whiteheads forcibly, try not to scratch, even with a extractor. You might just end up scarring your face in the process. In the case of milia, as they are also known, the pores are not open and hence, forcibly removing them will only add to the problem.

THE BENEFITS OF EXFOLIATION
To start with a little bit of information, exfoliation is a technique where the layer of the dead epidermal cells on the outer surface of the skin is removed. The purpose is to remove the dead ones to bring to surface the fresher, living cells.
For beginners, the most beneficial impact of exfoliation is that it brings out fresher and brighter looking skin. Exfoliation is generally regarded as one of the best ways to keep the skin soft and looking young. The removal of dead skin cells and excess dirt adds a nice glow to the skin and keeps the fine lines away.
A regular and moderate routine of exfoliating has also been found effective in controlling acne. This is mainly because it helps to keep the pores open and hence prevents formation of blackheads, whiteheads and the like. However, care should be taken to try out an exfoliating routine several times, before you settle down to a particular regimen.
Also exfoliation will remove makeup and sunscreen before you go to bed at night.
